"I am with you always"   Matthew 28:20

 I Don't  Need God

Is this what you actually feel and mean or is it more a case of you are quite happy without God in your life? Our greatest need is not 'happiness' - many lead happy lives and yet still feel something is missing or not quite right. Our greatest need in life is that of forgiveness. There are things we have done of which we are not proud, people we have hurt or upset, sins we have committed, either intentionally or accidentally.

We need God's forgiveness. God may be our loving Father in Heaven, but he is also our judge. One day you will stand before him to give an account of your life.  You have to make the decision now, before death, to accept what Jesus has done for you by dying for you on the cross or pay the penalty yourself for the things you have done wrong.

It Means Giving Loads Of Things Up

A lot of the things you do now you can still do. God will let you know what you are doing wrong, if you let him into your life.  Many Christians, lead full and active lives in total enjoyment.  God loves us all and only wants us to give up the things that harm us and this is no different to being a normal loving parent. You don't stop children enjoying themselves unless you can see what they are doing is dangerous and can lead them to harm. Would you let your children play with a sharp knife because they enjoyed playing with it?

Even if you do have something that does need to be given up this is nothing compared to what Jesus gave up for you and for the benefits a Christian life will bring to you.

There Must Be A Catch - Nothings Ever Free!

Most people have problems accepting that there is anything in life for free and assume there must be a catch. What you are getting is not free. Jesus died for it!  He paid by his blood for your benefit. Your part is easy - all you have to do is claim his love and ask him into your life.

I'm  A Bad Person

Don't worry - even the best of us is not good enough for God. This is why Jesus came and died for us. By paying the price for our sins he made it possible for God to forgive us our short-comings and sinful ways. God loves us as we are - no matter what we are or do, he loves us anyway. This does not mean we should not try to please him or change our ways, but it does mean that  regardless of our past sins, whatever state we are in right now, however much we have done wrong, God will receive us and welcome us with love and joy. Jesus did not die to save the good, he came and died to save sinners.

I Cannot Manage It on My Own

You don't have to. When you turn to God, you are transformed and supported by his Holy Spirit. God will provide you with the strength and power to make any changes you need to make in your life. God is always with you - you are never alone and he is your true and loyal friend always.

I Will Do It Later

The sooner you turn to God the sooner you will start to really live a better, more contented and fulfilling existence.  Do not assume there will be a later. Turn to God right now by asking Jesus to come into your life and to forgive your sins.
